Chesapeake Construction of Brevard, Inc. was established in 1987. However, there were many valuable years of
construction experience that preceded its establishment. In 1972, Founder and President Charles T. Cabrera III
enrolled in the Washington District Council Apprentice School in his hometown of Washington D.C. By 1973, he
earned his title as a Journeyman Carpenter. From 1972 to 1982 Charles was occupied by carpentry work and
construction supervision.
Charles moved from the Washington D.C. area to Brevard County with his family in 1976. In 1981 Charles earned
his certification as a General Contractor from the state of Florida. The following year Charles founded C
& F
Construction with partner Kim Fischer. In 1987 Charlie sold his interests in C
& F Construction and founded
Chesapeake Construction. Charles was recently joined by his son Chad Cabrera in 2002. Chad is also a state
certified building contractor and currently serves as the Vice President of Chesapeake Construction.
